Dean (Deanna), Sam, and Bobby are all ladies. Ruby 1 has the same canon vessel, then switches to a guy for Ruby 2.0. (it follows that Jess was a dude, as well as most of Deanna's flings.)
Her nickname is "Cass". Technically it's the official nickname for dude Castiel, but since most of the fans reject it, it's a good way to differentiate them.
